Every Year since 1974, the world gathers together to celebrate the environment because your survival on health is completely dependent on how friendly is. This year the United Nations has adopted the theme “Beat Plastic Pollution. If you can reuse it, refuse it.
“Plastic pollution is the accumulation of plastic products in the environment that adversely affects wildlife, wildlife habitat, or humans. However, the chemical structure of most plastics renders them resistant to many natural processes of degradation and as a result they are slow to degrade. Together, these two factors have led to a high prominence of plastic pollution in the environment”.
There is then an intense need to reduce the amount of plastics we use, especially in our nation Nigeria until we can be able to start recycling our plastics. The statistics are indeed scary and if care is not taking, we would suffer it.
I enjoin all the good people of Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha to join the fight against plastic pollution. Go to markets with your own plastic bags, use paper bags more often, avoid indiscriminate disposal of plastics.
Let’s beat plastic pollution for a healthy Dunukofia, Njikoka and Anaocha Federal constituency.
