Protecting our children means protecting our future

In this 2022, let us learn to build, let us learn to protect and let us learn to empower our youths

On a walk this morning in downtown Stockholm, I came across https://dittecpat.se an initiative by the Swedish Government in 2021 to protect youths and children 18 years and below from depression, suicide tendencies, trauma etc as a result of issues ranging from Rape, threat, bullying, careless release of their naked pictures online etc

Here they have 24 hours support for teenagers who feel threatened, who are sexually exploited and who by one mistake or the other got their naked pictures online

The last quarters of 2021 saw an influx of naked pictures and porn videos online in Nigeria from youths, politicians, social media influences, musicians etc.

Most of these videos were either released intentionally or done to blackmail those in the videos especially youths

As we enter 2022, let us and our leaders learn to do things right.

Let our Govt and religious institutions set up a genuine and functional initiative like this with 24 hours helpline

We will be saving lives, especially those of our youths
